Our Story

Our journey began in 1996 as a humble boiled maize (“Bada Irigu”) stall in Galewela, located along the busy A9 road. With dedication and the trust of our growing customer base, the small stall gradually expanded to include a vegetable and fruit shop, serving both locals and travelers.

In 2002, we opened a small hotel that quickly became a popular resting place for daily commuters and tourists passing through the area. Following the end of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009, travel along the A9 road increased significantly, bringing many visitors through Galewela. Our shop naturally became a welcoming stop where travelers could refresh during their journeys.

A major part of our success comes from the dedication of Mrs. S. A. M. A. W. Senanayake, whose traditional sweets such as Dodol and Musket quickly gained popularity among visitors. Many travelers began returning not only to rest, but also to take home bags of these authentic Sri Lankan sweets for their loved ones.

To Community

Beyond our day-to-day business, we are deeply committed to giving back to the community that has supported us throughout our journey. Every year, we proudly organize the largest Blood Donation Camp in the area, encouraging more donors to join this life-saving cause. During the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, we host a Vesak Dansala, offering delicious, high-quality meals to travelers and neighbors as a gesture of kindness and gratitude.

In addition, we actively support house construction for families in need, contribute to religious activities, and participate in various community development initiatives within the region. All these efforts are made possible through the generous support and dedication of our employees, neighbors, and well-wishers, who come together each year to make these events meaningful and impactful.
